Folks,
This is a reminder that the CSDirect username and password are highly
confidential. Prior breaches of CSDirect security have resulted in the
shut down of the website for a period of time. I realize that the recent
posting of a password very likely unintentional and was probably intended
to be an internal communication. That particular username and password was
disabled in short order and it is likely that no harm was done. In the
meantime please review and observe the following guidelines:
Treat the login and password information like your Social Security number
or your credit card number. Just as you would never post this information
to any list or web site (including intranets) you should never post your
CSDirect access code.
· Never give your library's access information to another library. This
includes libraries that are "shopping" and considering Innovative as their ILS.
· If you inadvertently give this access information out (it's so easy to
hit the reply or forward keys) or feel that your code has been
compromised, contact the Helpdesk immediately.
· When there is a change in the staff at your library, change your password
information. Contact the Helpdesk if you have questions.
I would also remind you of the Innopac List Netiquette document that is
available on the Innopacusers web site
http://innopacusers.org/list/list_etiquette.html. While written
specifically for the Innopacusers list, its text can be related to any
email list.
We have a strong partnership with Innovative and access to CSDirect is
extremely beneficial to all.
Sincerely,
Karen Johnson
