- Subject: Millennium technical services workflow -- IUG attendees
Hello --
I am interested in getting together at the IUG conference with anyone
who would be willing to talk to me about their Technical Services
workflow using Millennium. We began migration from DYNIX to Millennium
(2002, Phase 2) a year ago, going live with Cataloging in July, but
deferring the implementation of Acquisitions until 2004 so that the
change would coincide with our new fiscal year. Our public library
system is made up of the main library, where we have centralized Tech
Services (ordering, cataloging and processing) and 6 branches. Branches
are completely responsible for their own materials selection, but
ordering is centralized as much as possible. We order most of our books
and many of our non print materials from Baker & Taylor, and intend to
make increased use of their Title Source II product in the future.
If your library system is of similar size with a centralized Tech
Services dept., I would very much appreciate the benefit of your
experience and knowledge. Please contact me off the list if you would
like to meet at the IUG conference.
Thank you,
Adele Barree
