I looked at the documentation for the webpub.def. The only valid record types are bib, item and check records. The course reserve records are record type r so the webpub.def file can not be used to change the location of the 856. Does this sound right, or has anyone else gotten it to work?

Yesterday I wrote in reoly to a question from Sandra Card about the
position of 856 links in Web OPAC Course Reserve display.

Dinah Sanders, Product Manager for Web OPAC at Innovative, has kindly
contacted me that using webpub.def to rearrange the order of the fields
in the bibliographic record display might achieve what Sandra suggests.

Unfortunately Dinah is busy with beta testing of Silver Web OPAC and
only managed to raise her head long enough to send me this information
before sinking back under the testing waves (her description!).

Is there anyone out there willing to test this? If webpub.def does not
do the trick, Dinah suggests this should be submitted as a Web OPAC
enhancement.

Sandra,

I agree. I would also like to show the 856 link above item records.

Please submit it as an enhancement request under the Circulation
Ancillary category. Thanks.

We have a problem to which I have not found a solution. It regards
the 856 position in the WEB OPAC display of a course record.

In the bibliographic record display in the regular WEB OPAC, the 856 is
shown first, followed by the item record.

In the course record display, the 856 is shown LAST, after all the
attached items. This means that if a professor has a large number of
items attached to a course, the students may never scroll down far
enough to see the link to an electronic resource.

I can find no way to change this. Does anyone have a solution or does
this need to be turned into an enhancement request?
