- Subject: New Library needed help with WAM
Hello all.
I would like to give the layout of our network and then ask a few questions.
First of all, we have a Firewall that separates our network into three zones
- Inside, Outside and DMZ. We have our Innovative server located on the
inside network segment, and have given it an 'inside IP address' of
192.168.1.201. The Innovative server is currently pointed to use a DNS
server that supports DNS Wildcards. Hence, if I NSLookup
www.ala.ocls.iii.ocls.info <
http://www.ala.ocls.iii.ocls.info/> , I get back
the IP address of 192.168.1.201, as would be expected. However, when I put
http://0-www.ala.ocls.iii.ocls.info <
http://0-www.ala.ocls.iii.ocls.info/>
into my web browser, I keep getting a Page Cannot Be Displayed.
Does anyone else have their Innovative server on their inside network
segment? I would imagine that usually they might put it on their DMZ, but
since we are trying to co-exist with our older DRA system, I wasn't able to
open the same ports from the outside to the DMZ to 2 different Ip addresses
(our firewall (Borderware 7.0) requires that each open port from the
External to DMZ goes to a single IP address). Hence, the decision was to
put it internally on our network, and NAT out the ports that are needed for
our patrons to connect with.
What would cause a Page Can't Be Displayed error like this? Anyone know at
all? At the present time, our External DNS server doesn't resolve DNS
Wildcards at the moment, so you won't be able to test this from outside the
network - but inside it does work.
Thanks so much.
