Using Millennium 2002 Phase 3:
We have noticed that with our item barcodes (especially in our ILL module),
barcodes are able to be used twice which then causes problems later. Is
there a way to prevent this from happening?

We have tried to cover this by setting up our system options to include
duplicated fields as part of our Heading report in telnet. You can
specify what fields you'd like to be notified about (such as your item
barcodes). Find this in telnet, A - A - S - O - D, "Heading report:
Duplicate use fields."
We have also set our system options to catch duplicate item barcodes
right when someone tries to add one. We get a big on-screen message,
and can avoid the duplication right when it's happening. Function
located in telnet, A - A - S - O - D, under "New Item Records :
Duplicate Check on Fields ... ".
