- Subject: Email Notices
We send email notices out for holds through telnet. A number of patrons
have told us that they do not receive the hold notification but do
receive the email notice saying their hold has expired because it was
not picked up. Duplicate copies of all emails are also sent to the circ
supervisor so we are able to check and see if the hold notice really
went out. Our records indicate that notices were sent out on time to
these patrons. Many of these complaints are from the same people who
have lost a number of holds over several months time. Have any other
libraries had this issue? Many of the patrons use AOL, but if AOL was
blocking emails from the library it should be blocking all of them, not
just the hold pickup notification. Thanks!
