Instead of using Create Lists, could you create a Reserve List with
these books on it? If you don't change their location or item type,
then they will continue to display normally in your public catalog, and
check out for their normal period. But you could call up the Reserve
List and print it out. If you retained the list you could delete & add
items as the History Department continues to update their reading list.

The ACC History Department has created a generic reading list for US
History I. It would be useful if students could search for all the
titles
on the list. Consequently, we would like to add a note to the bib
record
for titles that we own. The note would say something like: U. S.
History
1301 Book List FY2004.
We have an I-code that distinguishes history books, but there are over
10,000 in our system, so that is a lot of items to delete, even using
Millennium create list. However, the faculty list is also long and
would
require MUCH keying in to create a list this way.
At this point, it seems like the best way to create a list is to create
a
list for all books with I-code for history, sort the list, and then
delete
all the titles that are not part of the reading list.
Is there another way that I'm missing?
