- Subject: Re: MILILL
You may have found a variation of what I think is a bug in the ILL
system. If I choose "Returnable" for an item that was entered as a copy
request and give it a barcode, scanning it in circulation brings up a fast
add screen. The link to the virtual record stays in the pending file and
will clear out when set to return, though with an error message and goes
into the filled records. And the virtual record can occasionally hang on
the patron record and III will have to fix the record. But, I feel there
is enough information to allow the patron to have the item. I do not tell
them there is a problem.
As for the enhancement idea, I agree. If you can edit an entry from the
booking module, which is also virtual record and part of the patron's file,
then the same capability should exist for an ILL record. Changing the
request type might call for adding and/or remove data field types. And
since the patron record is in Marc record format, that should make it a
reasonable request.
