ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
Electronic Delivery & Design Librarian, Arizona State University West.
ASU West Library is seeking an Assistant Librarian to provide leadership
in the development and advancement of tools and products that support
technology-based instruction. The Electronic Delivery & Design
Librarian will design products and lead a variety of team-based
technology projects. He or she will contribute to ongoing web-based
services, functions, and content including maintenance, enhancement,
procedures, and planning. Duties may include instruction, reference,

ASU West Library combines a small campus intimacy with a leading edge
approach to the Information Age. The Library makes extensive use of
electronic systems and resources and spends more than $1M annually for
collections and access. Our collection of books, periodicals, and media
supports the West Campus curriculum, while access to the combined
collections of all ASU libraries provides a depth and breadth of
resources normally found only at much larger campuses.
ASU West librarians work independently and collaboratively on projects
that meet organizational needs while reflecting individual expertise and
interest. Abundant opportunities exist for involvement in shaping our
future through collaborative planning, implementation, and assessment of
library programs and services. ASU West librarians also work closely
with faculty to provide course-integrated instruction and are active on
campus committees that affect students' educational experience,
institutional planning, and governance. They also serve as members of
learning community instructional teams.
Library Administration supports the professional activity, service, and
development of our librarians through funded professional development
and travel, individual computing, and paid sabbatical leaves.
Required Qualifications:
*ALA-accredited master's degree.
*Demonstrated experience with web development, design, and/or
maintenance.
*Demonstrated experience in project leadership.
*Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
*Experience with online graphic design.
*Experience in managing websites, including the use of site management
tools.
*Experience with dynamic delivery of web content and interactive web
design and underlying architecture.
*Experience with Cold Fusion and/or PHP.
*Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with library-related
technology trends and applications.
*Demonstrated knowledge or experience in learning theories and their
application.
*Demonstrated knowledge of or experience in user-centered design,
web-based accessibility standards, and web standards.
*Experience relevant to reference, instruction, and electronic
information retrieval in a library environment.
*Demonstrated knowledge of Spanish language.
Rank and Salary: This position is eligible for continuing appointment
with requirements for professional contributions and service. Rank:
Assistant Librarian; Salary: $38,000 minimum.
