POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position Description:
Indiana Wesleyan University Academic Affairs announces a position vacancy for an Instructional Resources Center Director. The Instructional Resources Center Director reports to the Director of Library Services and provides leadership in the development, implementation, and operation of the Instructional Resources Center and its activities in order to promote student learning and teacher effectiveness for the benefit of the University’s total educational program and mission.

Duties and responsibilities include planning, recommending and developing a comprehensive, creative, instructional, and technical program for the Instructional Resources Center; overseeing the creation and production of instructional materials and services; developing policies and procedures to ensure quality and consistent service; overseeing the work of the Instructional Designer; recruiting and selecting qualified staff for the Instructional Resources Center; overseeing and analyzing budgets and expenditures of the Center; assuring optimum use of Instructional Resources Center equipment, materials and software for instruction and presentations; and overseeing the creation of media-based applications for classroom use.

Qualifications:
Indiana Wesleyan University seeks an individual with a strong Christian commitment.

This individual must possess a Master’s Degree in media or related field; strong management and supervisory skills; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; experience with budget planning and forecasting; strong media production skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment; knowledge of technology planning and media implementation; and a strong commitment to service.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a comprehensive benefit package. Salary is established within the appropriate range.

Position Description:
Indiana Wesleyan University Academic Affairs announces a position vacancy for an Instructional Designer in the Instructional Resource Center. The Instructional Designer reports to the Instructional Resources Center Director and assists faculty in developing media enriched pedagogies and materials for courses within the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

Duties and responsibilities include assisting CAS faculty in analyzing learning needs to ensure appropriateness of online, blended and supplemental instructional materials and pedagogies; working with CAS faculty in the planning and production of supplemental course material; planning, developing and teaching CAS faculty development workshops and other activities in the area of instructional design; providing technical support to the CAS in the areas of web-based course management system(s) and informational architecture; and assisting CAS faculty in the assessment of effectiveness of course materials and pedagogies.
