Jeff,
We have 11 locations--each is defined as a terminal. We set our TRS up as a
terminal as well. And, terminal 0 is used for our Webpac. I run a
Circulation cross-tab report in Web Mgt Reports for each terminal (ugh) by
Ptype (rows) and Home Library (columns). From these reports, you can
distinguish the patrons (by Home Library) renewing items at each Location.
Mind you, I have to run this report 13 times...once for each location. If
you would like any further info, please feel free to contact me.
For the past 2 months we have been planning on how and what statistics to
maintain in 2004. We eliminated a ton of stats that no one uses. We're
also gearing our stats to better complete our annual report to the state.
In doing so, we've decided to treat the TRS and Webpac as branches unto
themselves and not apply these renewals to the home library of the patron.
There are 2 parts to the logic...simplicity and these figures do not
directly affect staff time at these locations. So, in 2004, the branch
stats will go down.
Linda

Subject: Online & Telephone Renewals
Hello,
How are people handling the situation with online renewal (through My
Millennium) and the use of the Telephone Renewal System and the loss of
circulation statistics to these "pseudo" libraries? Our Telephone Renewal
System statistics are very high and our libraries' statistics are going
down. Is anyone handling this situation in an innovative way; or, is this
just something that one must live with? My suggestion to enhance@xxxxxxxxxx was
to calculate the statistic according to the OUTLOC field in the Item Record
of the item being renewed. I have not seen this suggestion in the current
list though. Perhaps I missed it. This would at least give the statistic to
the library that had the initial checkout. Any thoughts? Thanks,
