Good afternoon -- Vendors usually put identifying information in the 001
tag, since records supplied by a vendor do not have an OCLC number. This
also enables subsequent orders of the same title to overlay the existing
bib record and add additional items. We order additional copies for
branches and this avoids creating duplicate records.
