Stuart,
There are a number of restrictions/limits relating to holds, money owed, max
# of checkouts for various items, etc. that you can set in the automatic
patron block table. These settings will block patrons from OPAC use and let
them know there is a problem with their card when whatever limits you set
have been exceeded. That is detailed on p. 102613 of the user manual.
