A search on d:"new england" should get records with the phrase New
England in a subject heading, shouldn't it?
<<<

Elizabeth,

It is weird. Here are some search variants to help get at the problem.

1.	d:'new england'

returns:	Tried: (d:new and england) 3270 records found

2.	d:'(new near england)' or d:'new near england'

returns:	3046 records found

3.	d:'(new england)'

returns:	Tried: (d:(new and england)) 3046 records found

4.	d:'(new within 1 england)'

retuns:	3038 records found

The innopac seems to be selectively pay attention to the quotes and
always pays attention to the paranthesis.

Funky. I'm kinda glad we have adjacency on by default... :-)

HTH,
David
