Millennium Client Issue after upgrade to Phase 3

Hello, Innopacusers:

In response to a posting earlier this month about errors with Millennium after the upgrade, I posted the following message.

"We have experienced a similiar problem on one of our circulation PCs. When we initially load the program it works. If we shut down the PC and restart it, the Millennium application freezes. On several reload attempts we did get the Invocation exception error. We have an open call with Innovative but haven't gotten very far with a solution."

Technicians at III asked our campus Computer Services technician to run scan disk and defrag on the PC. A complete diagnostics was then run (four times, I believe). The results were negative. The PC was actually reimaged and we had the very same results. Once the client was installed it would work, but if the PC was shutdown and rebooted, the client would present a black screen and freeze the computer.

Our campus Computer Services technician decided to install his own video card into the PC. I should say that the PC was purchased from Dell in March 2003. It has an Intel integrated video, the video is built onto the motherboard. When he installed a separate video card, the PC now works and maintains the Millennium client even when shutdown. The PC is running Windows 2000 SP4.

Very strange, and not really understood by even those who did the work, but since it fixed this particular PC for us, we aren't asking questions. I just wanted to pass this on as another piece of that great puzzle called TECHNOLOGY.

Have a great weekend, all.

Barbara
