Our Libraries use Millennium Release 2002 Phase 3. To track copyright
information, we use the Note field in the e-reserve Bib record (as it is
searchable by keyword). Notes are added as follows:

Note 1: Citation information
Copyright: Magazine or Book Title, Publisher, Publication, Date, Volume,
Issue, Pages

Note 2: Instructor information
Copyright: Last name, First name [Term - Class]

Note 3: Copyright permission information
Copyright: On file at (campus location) until (date)

As we are a 3 campus library system, reserve staff at each campus can
simply look up the record by title and check in the note fields to see if
an instructor has had the specific item on reserve at any one of the campus
locations. If copyright permission has been granted, this information can
be viewed as well. Then, we use create lists to generate reports of all
e-reserves that have copyright permissions due to expire on a particular
date.

We use Web Management Reports to keep track of statistical hits to
individual e-reserve files. Each class is coded and the statistical
information obtained through publisher code in Media Manager is fed into an
excel file that alphabetizes the statistics by class. Then, formulas are
quickly plugged in and class totals are posted to the e-reserves web pages.
