- Subject: RE: Release 2002 Phase 3: Millennium display & video card workaround
Hmmmm...
I received the orginal post with great glee because it appeared to offer a resolution to my considerable problems with Phase 3: menus that don't display, or work with the mouse, buttons that display only after one has pressed them with the mouse (not entirely useful), etc.
I immediately implemented the fix, disabling everything that was DirectX ... but I'm sorry to say, in my case, to no avail.
Unlike Lesley we do not have state of the art PCs (Win2K, Service Pack 4, but with Celeron 800s, 128Mb RAM only). Our video cards are also Tridents, though without on-board memory. This makes me wonder whether the problem might not lie with the Trident drivers rather than DirectX ... but I'm not a techie ... is there one on the list that might confirm this?
In the mean time it appears that we are still seeking a solution. We do have a help call in with III on the issue ... but in the mean time must keep guessing where the buttons might be, and continue prodding hopefully in the general area until we hit them.
