Subject: want to learn scripting programs (PERL, etc.)
Those of you who are using PERL, Expect, OML, etc....
How does a person learn to use these scripting languages? Formal
classes? Online classes? Self-teach using ____ (please fill in book
title or name other resource). Personal mentor? Borrow others' scripts
and eventually immerse yourself enough to learn by osmosis?
I want to learn to use scripting, but don't want to waste time trying
to do so the wrong way, so I'm interested in methods which have worked
for those who are using these powerful tools.
I'm willing to put together an anonymous summary of responses if
there's interest.
Thanks,
Melanie
