Courtesy Notices

I am looking someone who may have found a work around for using
Statements of Checked-Out Items for courtesy notices.  Most of our
patrons who would benefit from a reminder have a gazillion things
checked out.  So when they are reminded of 2 or three items about to
become due, they also get an unwieldy list of everything they have
checked out.  Using statements of checked out items for this is way too
clunky.
