Try this and see if it works.  I recently used this method to delete thousands of
940s.

When you do a global update, after you click on the command input tab, choose the
"delete variable-length field" option.  Uncheck the "Use displayed field" box and
type "006" in the MARC Tag box.  All the other global update steps for a review
file are the same.

The key to making this work is unchecking the "Use displayed field" box.
