I have a search strategy that can identify many multi-item titles, but it is
far from perfect. It will miss some titles. You have to use Millennium
Create Lists, because the search strategy involves grouping. This could
probably be refined based on knowledge of one's collection and
record-keeping practices. [And as I was typing this, more search parameters
occurred to me, such as excluding reference material and Special Collections
material)

(Bcode 3 not equal to d and bcode 3 not equal to n and Bib has link
to item)
AND
((Tot chkout = 0 and Tot chkout not equal to 0)
      OR
      (Copy#= 1 and Copy# not equal to 1)
      OR
      (Copy#=2 and Copy# greater than 2))

We have a number of titles where Copy 1 was withdrawn before records were
loaded, so only copies 2 and 3 are on the record. Unfortunately we also
have a lot of titles where all copies say copy 1. If all the copies say
copy 1 and none of them have ever circulated (or all copies have circulated
at least once), this search will miss them. On the other hand, for storage
or weeding purposes, people are usually interested in multiple copies with
low to no circulation anyway. You could add in another argument:
Tot chkout = 1 and Tot Chkout greater than 1

There is no easy way, but setting up this type of search strategy can help
get a substantial list, even if it is not 100%.

Subject: Creating list of bibs with multiple items attached

Has anyone found a way to create a list of just those Bib records in
your collection that have multiple items attached? I've been asked to
produce such a list for a massive weeding/remote storage project, and
the method of outputting huge review files to Excel and editing out the
single copies would probably take me all the way to retirement! I've
searched the list archives and user manual, and unless I'm using the
wrong search terms, I couldn't find anything on this.

I've opened a call with Innovative, but would greatly appreciate any
insights other libraries could offer in the meantime. Thanks!
