We use the family records feature.  It will not block all of a family if 
one person is blocked.  All other cards are still usable.  We are a public 
library and renew our cards annually because we are in an area of extreme 
mobility.  The link allows us to make sure we get the whole family updated 
when we renew.  There may be two or three last names in the family and 
having this link helps us ask if all of these people are still at this 
address when we renew the cards.
