At Chapman Law Library, we handle the new book list as follows:
1. The Serials/Acquisions Library and myself split the duty. (We alternate months.)
2. I guess I answered this question with the first.
3. When everything goes as planned, it takes about an hour per month. (That includes formatting one version for the web and one version for print.) When it does not go so well, it takes about four hours.
4. We only include new titles from whatever the source. Added volumes and second copies are not included.

My main question in relation to new books lists is who does the work to
prepare these? Which department is responsible for it and what level of
staff do you have working on it? Also, can you estimate how much time
it takes to produce the list? Do you include all books processed in the
"new" period of time, including added volumes, gifts, and second copies?
The list has repeatedly discussed the mechanics of producing such a list
in various formats, but I've not seen much discussion of the staffing or
decision-making behind the list production.
