- Subject: Withdrawals
We have yet to find a simple solution to the task of doing withdrawals.!!!!!
Doing it in Milcat one item at a time requires at least 4 keystokes plus the
barcode scan!!!
For Depts to withdraw or mark items for withdraw the item records must be
accessed and the status and ICODE2 changed!!!
Those who have come over from Dynix will recall that this process was done
simplly by scanning in the barcode.?1!!
NOW - if in Milcirc you can go into COUNT USE and go to IUSE3 there you can
scan in an item's barcode and thus changing the IUSE3 count, a field in the
item record - COULD that same type of functionality be programmed to change
STATUS to WITHDRAWN?
We don't use COUNT USE/IUSE3 and so we are going to play with the process of
scanning items here that are slated for WITHDRAWAL and then CREATE LIST
based on IUSE3 count "> than zero". And then in Rapid Update change ICODE2
to N for suppression and STATUS to w for WITHDRAWN and RESETTING IUSE3 back
to ZERO. ******* FIRST I RAN A LIST LOOKING FOR ITEMS WITH IUSE3 COUNT
GREATER THAN 0.
This idea was passed on to me so I can't take credit if it works or blame if
it doesn't
