Very definitely. It has happened to us due
to problems with our ups not working correctly
(not using powerwatch though). Its
definitely worth having software to shutdown
the innopac prior to loss of power.

Subject: data loss due to power outages
Fellow INNOPAC users,
Has anyone experienced data corruption, loss, or damage to data due to a
catastrophic power loss? Due to a recent chance in our infrastructure, we
no longer have a constant power source for our INNOPAC. I've moved the
server to a separate UPS unit but this only provides around an hour and a
half of battery life. The powers that be are hesitant to spend the money to
purchase Innovative's PowerWatch option for our system and have requested
evidence that indeed a power outage can cause damage to a system.
Thanks in advance,
Jon Mark
