We use the fine schedule: reserve items due in 2 hours are charged $1 for
first hour overdue and then $.25 an hour after that. When the fine reaches
$10, the student is billed the price of item, plus $20 ser chg, plus $20
processing.
If it is an item that has a 1 day, 3 day, 1 week or 2 week due date, the
overdue fine is $.50 a day until fine reaches $10 and then the above
billing applies.
We send an initial, final and then billing notice. Often, we will call the
student too. Hope this helps.

We would like to know what other libraries are currently charging for
reserve books that are kept a month or two past the due date. The longest
reserve loan we have is a week. But it seems that students are holding on
to them for longer periods of time.
