- Subject: Re: MilCirc Freezing after Phase 3 ?
We're having the same problems running on pcs usually after using Search/Holds, latest advice we have been given is:
There is a relevant setting you can turn on or off; it allows users to have
multiple editor windows open at the same time. From Admin | Settings,
Windows, "Window Mode"s: Single versus Multi. Multi is a feature for
catalogers but has little or no use in Circulation, as far as I know. It
can be turned on and off for each user so a good test would be to have your
colleagues check their settings. If it is set to Multi on anyone's client,
let's try switching to Single and see if the change improves things.
See Page # 105210 for more info about the Window Modes.
I haven't tried it out yet, so not sure if it'll make any difference.

We loaded Phase 3 last weekend, and spent the week reloading the Mil client
software on all the staff PCs and Macs. Since then, we have been
experiencing problems with MilCirc sessions freezing on the Macs at our
circulation desk. These are all very new machines, with plenty of
capacity. We are not experiencing the same problem with other Mil modules
or with PCs running MilCirc. We are trying to diagnose the source of this
problem. We suspect this may be a problem with our local campus network.
However, first we want to rule out the possibility that this may be a
general MilCirc Phase 3 issue. Is anyone else on Phase 3 having this
problem with MilCirc? And if so, are you using Macs or PCs?
Thanks for any information you can share. Carol Eyler
