Thanks Helen. I don't see that having it lower in the check-in record
helps, though with a complicated subscription from several vendors it
could. And if it could be automatically inserted with a record load such
as from Serials Solutions of course that would be great. For us it does
raise another issue- the 856 in the bib is maintained by the cataloging
department while the check-in record is maintained by serials.
What the public services librarians wish is we could get the hot-link in
the holdings line that shows above the check in records. (See the same
Callaloo journal title search in our catalog at http://simon.ups.edu )
These are 866 lines from the bib, holdovers from the days we printed a
periodicals directory from that data.
