Registration is now open for the Fall Conference of the Minnesota
Innovative Users Group. Recognizing that the number of staff who are able
to attend the national IUG conference is often limited by library resources
and staffing, our goal has been to put on a quality program that is aimed
at all levels of staff from Innovative libraries in the region. We invite
staff from any library using the Innovative system to attend. It's a great
opportunity to meet with staff from other area Innovative libraries and to
share experiences and to learn new things. Last year's fall conference was
attended by more than 130 library staff from 30 libraries in Minnesota,
Iowa, and Wisconsin - and we're anticipating an even better turnout this
year!

We are pleased that three Innovative staff members will be joining us and
helping us with part of the program. Mary Chevreau, Diane Lewin and Ted
Fons will be updating us on company news and highlighting new products
including presentations on Millennium Statistics and the new Electronic
Resource Management product. They will also update us on other new products
in development.

A wide range of presentations and sessions will also be offered by
colleagues from our area. These include sessions of interest on topics
ranging from tracking patron use of the public catalog and the use of
stylesheets in the re-design of webpacs to an overview of the global update
feature and the materials booking module.

Early registration, which offers a significant savings on the registration
fee ($15 for staff from member libraries / $30 for staff from non-member
libraries), is available until September 30th. Regular registration is
available then until the registration deadline on October 12th ($25 for
staff from member libraries / $40 for staff from non-member libraries).
Register early and save!

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE VERY SUCCESSFUL!

Thanks to all of the libraries that have already joined the Minnesota IUG!
Our organization is just over a year old and we've been very pleased with
the response and support that we've received from Innovative libraries in
the region. So far, we've had 15 libraries from Minnesota, Wisconsin and
Iowa sign up so far with many other libraries indicating the "form is in
the mail". To see a list of libraries that have signed on already, as well
as other membership information visit the web link below.

Please Note: In order to take advantage of the membership registration
rates for the fall conference, the library membership form and fee should
be received before registration or can be sent along with registration.
