I've collected a couple of URLs that may assist you.

http://watson.jfku.edu/Expect.html : contains some expect scripts used
to automate III backups and links to helpful Expect resources [author is
not listed and I can't remember where I got the URL]

The above page also contains a link to some of Sonja's expect scripts
at:
http://lily.solid.org/%7Efink/Expect/
I believe Sonja did a poster session on Expect scripting at the Houston
IUG 10 ?

Andrea Peterson, Western Washington University Libraries, has an
excellent page with sample Expect scripts for III functions at :
http://www.library.wwu.edu/info/iii/expect/

You can also find scripts for automating Create List functions, as well
as others, at the wonderful NobleNet Swap Shop:

Subject: Cron jobs

Hello All,
Is anyone willing to share how to set up cron jobs? I have so
many lists I need to create and export that I can only accomplish this
by automating them. I have searched the listserv and the internet for a
person named Sonya Fink, who is supposed
to have done a lot of work with this, but I cannot find her or her
literature. Someone, please, give me a shove in the right direction.
Thanks very much.
