Eric --
The documentation I saw (the Innovative e-mail announcing the launch of the software) stated that you needed to be on Phase 2 to upgrade to Phase 3. While the change might have originally been planned to take people from Phase 1 or Phase 2 at one point, possibly something changed that caused this more strict approach.
I would give yourself about a full half day for both upgrades. I suppose it would be good for people on the list to comment on doing back to back uprgrades (a virtual double-header).

Subject: Phase 3 conversion and the need to start at Phase 2?
Greetings - For a variety of reasons we remained on 2002 Phase 1. However,
we are preparing to migrate to Phase 3. I was told long ago by III that I
could go directly from Phase 1 to 3, but I have read otherwise in these
postings. Do I need to install Phase 2 so that various files (patron, bib,
item, order, acq etc.) will be updated in a way needed for Phase 3 or can I
sucessfully go directly from Phase 1 to Phase 3? And, thanks to all of you
who have converted to Phase 3 for sharing your experiences and details. I,
for one, am keeping a notebook of them in anticipation of THE day.
