Hello Public Libraries out there! As many of you are doing, we are reviewing our service to Young Adults (as separate from Juvenile). Presently, we store a shelf location code in the OPAC message field for Young Adult items. However, we're considering making it a full fledged subcategory in our location code. We're also considering a new local call # prefix. Currently, we use "F" for fiction and JF for Juvenile fiction. Both have created some problems with our SCAT table (which is Dewey) and we're concerned about furthering the problem by adding YF for Young Adult fiction. We would like to get call number collection statistics on these items as well as circ stats from Millennium. We'd like some advice from public libraries who already have something in place for the Young Adult category... Thanks and kind regards, Eeva
