- Subject: 3M self-checkout and status
We have been using a special item status to designate books on our new book
shelves, but have run into the problem that the 3M self-checkout machine we
have will only accept the status '-'.
Has anyone been able to get a 3M machine to work with a status other than
'-'? (possibly by using a more sophisticated machine, or getting III to set
something up?)
Failing that, we are willing to consider alternative ways of designating our
new books. However, location would be problematic because we have several
permanent locations and we would want to be able to rapid update the change.
A recent thread on this topic (April 2003) indicated other options, such as
Reserve module and OPAC message. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Gary Hough
