We are using 3M-self check machines with Release 2002 Phase 2 without problems. We haven't noticed any misbehaviour on Phase 2 (only regarding this issue, of course...).

Our 3M self-check machine has been out of service for some time while
it was learning to speak proper Welsh!  We have brought it out in the
open but it refuses to validate PINs.  A 3M engineer checked the unit
and told us that it was Innovative's software that was at fault.  We are
still on Release 2002 Phase 2.

I have opened a call with the help desk but wonder if anyone else has
come across this problem.  Thanks.
