- Subject: Loading SerialsSolution holdings files with Electronic Journals HoldingsUpdate
Hello dear list members,
I have a question regarding the loading of SerialsSolutions files in
checkin records using the Electronic Journals Holdings Update software.
We do not load files from SerialsSolutions yet but we do have the
Electronic Journals Holdings Update software.
Question #1
Since a journal may be present in more than one source (i.e JSTOR,
ProQuest, the publisher itself etc.), this means that the ISSN for this
journal could appear more than once in the SerialsSolutions holdings
file. Since loading a file than contains the same ISSN more than once is
problematic (the record gets busy); how do you load multiple and
different holdings information for the same journal? Do you chop the
SerialsSolution file by publishers and load each file one after the
other with a unique identifier for each publishers holdings file? or
does SerialsSolutions provide you with a file for each publisher?
I am not sure about any of this, or perhaps I do not understand the process?
