Hello all,
I have noticed that the problem with opening the manual's table of
contents is not specific to the web browser but the version of Java
Runtime Enviroment that is installed. My experience is that Java 1.4
does not work with the Release 2003 Phase 2 manual. In IE I am able to
turn off the use of Java 1.4 by going to:
- Select "Tools" from the IE menubar
- Select "Internet Options..."
- Select the "Advanced" tab
- Unselect "Use Java 2 v1.4.1_02 for <applet> (requires restart) option
(the exact version of Java varies depending on what you have installed)
After I restarted my computer I was able to use the web manual again.
Strangely when ever I update my Java software and our library web manual
stops working I was always able to use the manual at C.S.Direct without
any problems. My guess is that III test out the new manual on themselves
first which is compatible with Java 1.4.
HTH,
Tony
