Hello all,
To answer some of the questions:
- You are not alone with this problem
- I reported this problem to Innovative on June 2, c682001
- It was forwarded to III Software Engineers on June 2
The problem is in the HTML code with the 3 pages that make up the
parent and 2 child frames in E-course reserve's authentication page. A
look at the HTML of these 3 pages with show some important, necessary
tags missing, like <body>, </body>, <html>, </html>, <head>, </head>. The
page that renders the authentication fields for name and barcode/univID is
missing all these tags which is causing problems with web browsers that
are less allowing of incorrect HTML code.
I have notice problems with the following browsers:
- AOL 8 on Windows 98 (though I think all Windows OS's might have this
problem in the AOL 8 browser)
- Mozilla Firebird
- Netscape 7.1
Maybe someone with the beta Release 2003, Phase 3 can test this and see if
it was corrected. For now my call is still open. For now I have asked
the students that are having problems to use either order versions of
Netscape or open your web connection with AOL then use the pre-installed
Internet Explorer browser to get to ECR.
Good luck,
Tony
