- Subject: Printing labels in Millennium Cataloging to an unattached shared dot-matrix printer - is it possible ?
III ListServ,
We have a situation where a Millennium Cataloging computer is trying to
print labels to a dot matrix printer, but the printer is not attached. The
labels will not print.
The printer is physically attached to someone else's computer about 10
yards away. The printer is setup to be shared to the MilCat computer via
Windows.
What is puzzling is that the same kind of setup works fine when printing
labels in the character-based system, i.e. labels print to the shared
printer from the unattached computer, but it will not work via Millennium
Cataloging.
Is it possible to get this type of printing configuration to work in MilCat
or will the MilCat computer need to have their own attached printer ? This
is obviously not the typical model of networked printing when a network
printer is assigned an IP and a group of computers can print to it via
Workstation JetDirect.
We do not believe this is a Print Wizard issue either, since we do not need
Print Wizard when typically printing to dot matrix, attached printers.
