- Subject: using invoice register instead of Output Accounting Information(Product 414)
Our library is considering using the data output from invoice register instead of the payment history file from Product 414(Output Accounting Information) and sending it over to the institution's accounting system after formatting it properly. Can anyone comment on the feasibility of doing this?
My understanding is that some script/program is needed to format the output of INNOPAC based on the requirements of the institution's accounting system. This script/program has be to run separately from INNOPAC. There seems no magic way for us to incorporate the script/program we write by ourselves into INNOPAC so that invoices are sent over to the institution's accourning system automatically when invoices are posted in INNOPAC.
Also, any information about the program you have written is highly appreciated, e.g. what programming language you used, what are the major problems you have met and how you have solved them, how long you spent on testing the script/program, etc.
I would like to give thanks to Mr. Stuart Spore, Mr. Fred Gertler, Ms. Denyse Seaman and Ms. Jody Bussell who have given me some useful information on these.
