RE: order fields in 949 (in CatME) not showing up in III orderrecord.

To input variable length fields in an order record that is created by
downloading the information from OCLC, you need to use subfields in the
949 field. See page 102793 in the manual for an explanation.

The way we insert variable fields in the order record is with one or
more additional 949 fields with second indicator of 1 and subfields
instead of command strings.

The command line codes for the first 949 do not appear in our load
table, only in the manual. The variable fields appear in the load
table.
The one-letter codes represent subfields. The subfield codes are not
necessarily the same as the III field group tags.

 82 > ORDER                INT. NOTE(z)         949        b
 83 > ORDER                VEN. NOTE(v)         949        c
 84 > ORDER                VEN. ADDR.(q)        949        d
 85 > ORDER                SELECTOR(s)          949        e
 86 > ORDER                VEN TITLE #(f)       949        f
 87 > ORDER                IDENTITY(i)          949        g

So for us, a order-creation 949 look something like this:

949    *recs=bo;vd=abse;loc=media;fd=media;c1=r;fm=v;ep=0.00;
949  1 |b pc |c dvd |e Roazen

(in OCLC, the spaces before and after the subfield codes (|x) are
important).

If that doesn't work, try
949     *recs=bo;vd=abse;loc=media;fd=media;c1=r;fm=v;ep=0.00;
949  1  |b pc
949  1  |c dvd
949  1  |e Roazen

It seems to work for us.

Hope that makes sense,

Mary

Subject: order fields in 949 (in CatME) not showing up in III order
record.

We are having a problem with certain fields, variable and fixed
length,
in
the 949 in CatME, not showing up in the resulting order record in III.

Heres an example 949
949
*recs=bo;vd=abse;loc=media;fd=media;c1=r;fm=v;ep=0.00;z=pc;v=dvd;s=roaze
n;

When the record is exported into III none of these fields is present.
internal note z=pc
vendor note v=dvd
requestor s=roazen
location loc=media

all of these are in the III manual as valid and they are all in our
bib
and
order load table

any ideas about what's not right would be welcome (and a call is in the

hands of III already)
