migration to fiber

GlacierI'd like to know if there are any of you out there who have gone from
Ethernet to fiber optic cable (to the desktop) and what ramifications, if
any, did you encounter with the catalog or anything else?  Our building
expansion is due to be completed in mid-January and the decision has been
made to go with fiber all the way.

We have been provided a quote by III to exchange our current Alpha with
another server containing a fiber NIC card.  Is there anything else I should
be looking/asking about?
