Importing patron data

We run a joint use high school public library.  I would like to import
patron data for new incoming students. ( We are running Millennium  2002
phase 1)  I have a file on a 3.5 floppy in comma delimited format with
student first and last name, student i.d. number, home telephone number and
I would like to place these in the respective fields in my Milcirc patron
file.  Regarding the student I.D. number, we use the prefix 23650 and append
the student I.D. number for their library card.  So when I add the student
I.D. I would like to append this in every library card number field.  Also,
for the address field, I want to put ELHS, which tells us they are on the
high school campus (we send hold, overdue and bills to their English class
for distribution to save postage).  Has anyone imported records in this way
and can someone give me detailed instructions on how you did it?
