At the moment, we are retaining this information, since the only other
option is not retaining it. There are some instances where you need this
info. In the old Dynix system, this information was kept for a day or so
and then it went away. But that isn't currently an option in Innovative. I
hope that enhancement goes through.

Our director is concerned about the privacy issues surrounding the use
of the LPATRON field in the item record. We currently have the check-in
option set to "yes". I am aware of the enhancement request to allow us
to set an automatic deletion of the information in this field after a
set time period. Our director would like to know if the use of the
LPATRON field is a common practice among Innovative libraries, that is,
are other libraries setting the check-in option to "yes" and retaining
the patron information in item records? Thank you.
