We use the Percon for in house check-in too. We started with stacks,
reference, and periodicals, and we are planning on starting to count in
house usage for current periodicals.

We use the Percon unit for in-house counts for periodicals and for
materials picked up after use in the stacks. We also use it to record
use
in Reference. Every two years we print out the count use and then
return
the counter to 0 in reference and periodicals. Then we know the time
frame for the usage.

I was wondering if anyone out there has used a palm pilot or other
handheld device as a scanner for count use. I have used it for
inventory, but would be interested to know about uploading into a
counter.

Thanks
