Subject: Millennium Media and audio files
Has anyone successfully used MP3 files in Millennium Media? We are
exploring the possibility of using MM for audio reserves. I have
attached an MP3 file to a reserve item. After opening the course list
and completing the authentication, Internet Explorer displays the MP3 as
a text file - some metadata, mostly "junk." When I launch other MP3
files using IE, IE launches my media player (RealOne). Any suggestions?
I've read through the manual, searched the csdirect site, and searched
the list archive, all to no avail.

We are currently exploring this here at Dartmouth; initially we had the same problem that you describe, and there was a fix that was made on the III side. Open a call with them, as they need to address it in the WEBPAC. As an aside, we are having the same problem still with .xls (Excel) files.
