- Subject: University one-card system with CBORD
Hi,
Our college is currently on a fast-track implementation of a university
one-card system and wants to have a single campus-wide database for
everyone including the library. I need to talk with any individuals who
have had to move to this kind of a system. INNOPAC is such a
fully-integrated system, I am finding it difficult to conceptualize how we
can scan IDs attached to a CBORD database and still have all the integrated
functions work in INNOPAC. Is there anyone out there who has worked with
such an interface? Do you know what III software product is necessary to
make it happen?
At present we upload data from the campus administrative system (Datatel)
and create our own patron database. Campus users have a magnetic strip ID
which we have successfully scanned for a few years with a keyboard wedge
mag reader. The new one-card system would move access/authentication to a
whole other system (CBORD).
Thanks,
Alan E. Bartlett
