- Subject: Southeast libraries: suggestion
To all in the Southeast,
I was looking at III's site at all of the libraries in the Southeast and
thought you might like to know the configuration:
In TN, there are 12 libraries -- 8 academic, 2 public, 1 medical, and 1 law.
In SC, there are 12 libraries -- 10 academic & 2 medical.
In NC, there are 25 libraries -- 18 academic, 3 consortia, 2 public, 1 law,
1 medical.
In VA, there are 26 libraries -- 3 law, 5 public, 1 consortia, & 17
academic.
In MS, there are 5 libraries -- 4 academic & 1 law.
In LA, there are 7 libraries -- 1 academic, 2 public, 2 medical, & 2 law.
In KY, there are 4 libraries -- 3 academic & 1 public.
In GA, there are 7 libraries -- 4 academic, 2 law & 1 medical
In FL, there are 15 libraries -- 4 academic, 7 law, 2 medical, & 2 public
In AL, there are 6 libraries -- 3 public & 3 law
Total = 119 libraries -- 69 academic, 4 consortia, 20 law, 9 medical, & 17
public.
The reason I bring this up is because there is really enough libraries to
warrant the establishment of a users group, but I need to know if there is
any interest in this? If you are from one of the states above and would be
interested in a users group just for the Southeast region, please respond to
me at jmcgranahan@xxxxxxxxxx. Thank you.
