We barcode individual issues only when they circulate. We have on-the-fly records set up so all they have to do put a barcode on the issue, type in the title and add the volume and issue number. It's coded to come to cataloging when it is returned and we do the clean-up. The records are suppressed in the public view.

> Hello! We are a public library and we are reviewing our circulation practices re: periodicals. Currently, we do not create item records for issues of periodicals that circulate. This is not working well for us and we are considering the various ways that we can circulate periodical issues in Millenium. Circ-on-the-fly is one option for us, though we feel it may create a significant amount of work. Another option we're considering is creating a "dummy item record/records" per serial title... In any case, there are the barcode issues... How do other libraries handle the circulation of periodicals using Millenium or INNOPAC? Thanks for sharing! Kind regards, Eeva
