RE: Load tables self-taught

Oh, wouldn't that be wonderful! Several of us in NE Ohio needed this
training, and did try to get III to bring it on the road. They wouldn't. I
was told it was because of the training database they use. However, when I
attended the class, there was very little hands on, so I still don't
understand their reasoning.

Gang --

I appreciate Eric's budget situation. Many of us have had travel budgets,
esp out-of-state, cut to nadda.

I'm a new kid on the block - our system install at Concord (NH) Public
Library is Aug, 11, and we are going live with circ around the end of
October. So my question may be a bit naive --

Do the regional users groups ever sponsor training and have III staff come
to a regional area? It sure as heck would be alot more affordable for us to
attend a training session like load tables if it were held on the east
coast. Driving to Boston or NYC and eeking out an overnight hotel bill is
alot different than flying to CA and staying several more nights in a hotel.

Just a thought,

Thanks,

Paul

We are finding vendors offering what they claim to be MARC records with
their products. However, in order to make use of them, one needs load
tables to take the record and make it useful to the Millenium system. At
this moment I need a load table for Learning Express but we can't afford to
pay to have Innovative make them and the training in Emeryville on precisely
this is next week - budget is gone for that too. How are others out there
taking advantage of vendors who offer records vis-a-vis the load table
issue?
