Librarian for Extended Education
 
Western Washington University seeks a Librarian for Extended Education
at the rank of Lecturer for a 12 month, non-tenure track faculty
position to provide library support to students and faculty at a
distance, and to coordinate all aspects of this service and its
delivery.  Some evening and weekend hours are required.  

Western Washington University is located between Seattle, WA and
Vancouver, BC, includes six undergraduate colleges and a graduate
school, with a student population of over 11,000.  Western supports
approximately 1200 extended education students within a 100 mile radius
of the campus.  Students may complete a degree, certificate, or course
through extended education programs.  University web site:

Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS, MLIS or the foreign
equivalent; experience in an academic or research library; familiarity
with distance education issues and instructional technologies; expertise
with computer applications and electronic resources; excellent
communication skills; must hold a valid driver's license; some travel
required.   

Desirable Qualifications:  reference and instruction experience;
experience in providing distance education services; at least two years
professional library experience.  Salary range:  $40,000 - $45,000. The
position is available immediately.
